Assessment Centre

An assessment centre is a structured evaluation, often a half or full day, where candidates complete exercises like group tasks, presentations, case studies, and psychometric tests while assessors observe. Gulf banks, energy firms, and graduate programmes use them to compare candidates on real behaviour rather than interview answers alone.

Because assessors watch how you work, not just what you say, contribute clearly in group tasks without dominating, manage your time in written exercises, and stay consistent across the day. In group activities, helping the team reach a good outcome scores better than winning the argument. Prepare as you would for psychometric tests and competency interviews, since those are usually part of the mix. How the screening stack fits together: fresh graduate CV guide.
