Hajj Leave

Hajj leave is a special leave allowing Muslim employees time off to perform the pilgrimage to Mecca. In the UAE it is granted once during your service, commonly up to 30 days, and is usually unpaid. It is a distinct entitlement separate from your annual leave, though eligibility conditions and duration can vary by country and employer.

If you intend to perform Hajj, plan well ahead: it is a once-in-employment entitlement, usually unpaid, so budget for the time and coordinate dates early, since Hajj timing shifts each year. Confirm your employer's policy and any service condition before relying on it, and keep it separate in your mind from paid annual leave. Rules differ across the Gulf and can change, so verify current terms locally. How leave fits your rights: UAE CV format guide.
