Part-Time Contract

A part-time contract is one of the flexible work models the UAE introduced under its 2021 labour law, letting you work fewer hours and, with a part-time work permit, hold jobs with more than one employer. Working a second part-time job usually needs a no-objection certificate from your main employer and must not breach a non-compete.

This legalizes multi-employer arrangements that used to sit in a grey area, useful for specialists who split time across companies. Entitlements like leave and gratuity are typically pro-rated to the hours worked, so check how yours are calculated. Get the NOC and confirm you are not competing with your main employer. Rules and permit types change, so verify current requirements with MOHRE. How to present a flexible history on a CV: UAE CV format guide.
