Exit and Re-Entry Visa

An exit and re-entry visa is the permit an expatriate in Saudi Arabia needs to leave the country temporarily and return without losing residency. It comes in single and multiple forms, is requested through Absher, and requires an Iqama with enough remaining validity. It differs from a final exit visa, which ends your residency.

Every resident, including dependents, needs one before travelling out of the Kingdom, and it carries a set return date. Miss that date and your Iqama can be cancelled, creating re-entry problems, so plan travel around the visa's validity. Under the labour reforms, workers can increasingly manage this themselves through Absher rather than relying on the employer. Rules and fees change, so confirm current terms on Absher.
