Salary Negotiation

Salary negotiation is the conversation where you and an employer agree your pay and package. In the Gulf it usually happens after an offer and often moves the allowances, especially housing, more than the base, which is frequently fixed by grade. A researched, specific number backed by a benchmark negotiates better than a hopeful round figure.

Anchor on a benchmark for your role and city, and negotiate the whole package, not just the base: housing, flights, education, bonus, and start date are all levers. Let the employer name a number first where you can, stay collaborative rather than combative, and get the final agreement into the offer letter. This continues the work your CV started.
