Green Visa (UAE)

The UAE Green Visa is a five-year self-sponsored residency for skilled employees, freelancers, self-employed professionals, and investors. Unlike a standard employment visa it does not tie you to one employer, so you can change jobs or work with multiple clients while keeping your residency. Freelancers qualify with a permit and a set income threshold.

On a CV, Green Visa status tells a UAE employer there is no sponsorship to arrange and no transfer risk, much like the Golden Visa but on a five-year, skill-based track. The freelancer route requires a MOHRE freelance permit, a minimum annual income, and an attested degree. Categories and thresholds are revised, so confirm current rules on the UAE ICP portal.
