Flight Allowance

A flight allowance is an employer benefit covering annual air tickets home for you and often your dependents, a standard part of Gulf expatriate packages. It may be paid as a fixed cash sum once a year or provided as actual tickets, and it is separate from a one-time relocation allowance.

Check whether it is cash or tickets, how many family members it covers, and whether the class or amount is capped, because a cash allowance you can spend flexibly is often better than fixed tickets. It is an allowance, so it usually does not count toward gratuity. When comparing offers, add its real annual value to the package rather than ignoring it.
