Boolean Search

Boolean search is how recruiters query talent databases and job portals, combining keywords with operators like AND, OR, and NOT, plus quotation marks for exact phrases. A recruiter might search project manager AND (Arabic OR bilingual) NOT junior, so your CV surfaces only if it literally contains the right terms and their variants.

This is the mechanism behind keyword matching, seen from the recruiter's side. To be found, include both the abbreviation and the full form of key terms, common synonyms, and the exact job titles you are targeting, wherever they are genuinely true. Missing a variant, writing only online marketing when they search digital marketing, can keep you out of results entirely. How to place keywords honestly: ATS-friendly CV guide.
