GOSI (Social Insurance)

GOSI is the General Organization for Social Insurance, Saudi Arabia's social-insurance and pension system. Contributions are deducted monthly from Saudi and GCC-national employees and matched by employers, calculated on basic salary plus housing up to a cap. Expatriate employees fall largely outside it, apart from a small employer-paid occupational-hazard contribution.

If you are a Saudi or GCC national, GOSI is the main gap between your gross and net pay, with contribution rates rising in phases through 2028 and calculated on basic plus housing up to a monthly cap. For most expatriates, take-home is unaffected because only the employer's occupational-hazard share applies. Do not confuse tax-free pay with social insurance; they are separate. Rates change, so verify current figures with GOSI. How Gulf pay is structured: Gulf salary package guide.
